Ubisoft has announced that Edward Kenway, the pirate protagonist of Assassin's Creed Black Flag, will be available as a character skin in the upcoming Rayman Legends Retold for Nintendo Switch 2. The crossover brings one of the series' most recognizable assassins into the limbless platformer's world, set to release on October 1, 2026, according to nintendolife.com.
The remastered Rayman game, which nintendolife.com reports features fully 3D visuals, a new story, a sixth realm, and improved gameplay, will include the Kenway skin as a bonus. The announcement aligns with the release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, a separate remaster of the pirate-themed Assassin's Creed title.
"Tough to hide a blade up your sleeve with no arms"
GoNintendo offered that wry observation, highlighting the absurd humor of grafting an assassin character onto Rayman's famously armless hero. The skin is a callback to the original Rayman Legends, which also included a Kenway costume as a crossover bonus.
The inclusion continues Ubisoft's tradition of mixing its franchises across games, though the contrast between Kenway's gritty maritime world and Rayman's surreal cartoon aesthetic is especially stark. nintendolife.com confirmed the skin will be exclusive to the Switch 2 version of Rayman Legends Retold for now.
