Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), the world's largest contract chipmaker, posted second-quarter revenue that jumped 36% from a year earlier, beating market expectations, according to reports from KELO-AM and KFGO. The company reported revenue of 1.27 trillion Taiwan dollars (approximately $39.6 billion) for the quarter, with June alone delivering the highest monthly sales in TSMC's history, Focus Taiwan reported.
June revenue surged 67.9% year-over-year and 6.2% month-over-month to $13.8 billion, Electronics Weekly disclosed. For the first half of 2026, TSMC's total revenue reached NT$2.404 trillion ($74.8 billion), Tech in Asia noted. The strong performance comes amid insatiable global demand for artificial intelligence applications, which has boosted orders for TSMC's advanced chips.
"TSMC ... reported its highest monthly sales in June in the wake of strong global demand for AI applications."
This AI-driven surge has made TSMC a critical link in the tech supply chain, particularly for companies racing to deploy AI infrastructure.
"TSMC is a major supplier to companies including Nvidia and Apple."
Both Nvidia, the dominant maker of AI accelerators, and Apple, which designs its own processors for iPhones and Macs, rely on TSMC's cutting-edge fabrication, giving the chipmaker outsized exposure to the industry's hottest growth segment.
Analysts will now watch whether TSMC can sustain its momentum through the second half of the year, as the company's quarterly results have consistently exceeded expectations, underscoring how deeply AI demand has reshaped the semiconductor landscape.
