The Toronto International Film Festival is launching its first-ever dedicated film market, TIFF: The Market, running from September 10 to 16. The event has already secured commitments from over 150 international sales, promotion, and distribution companies, marking a major expansion of the festival's industry programming.
"The inaugural edition of TIFF: The Market, the Toronto Film Festival's official industry market, has confirmed participation from over 150 international sales, promotion, and distribution companies."
Among the confirmed participants are heavyweights like Goodfellas, AGC Studios, CAA, XYZ Films, WME, FilmNation, and UTA, alongside international players such as Playtime, CJ Entertainment, and Finecut, Deadline reported. The market is also expected to draw longtime Toronto regulars including Lionsgate, Black Bear, Neon, Gaumont, Pathé Films, and Embankment Films.
"More than 130 buyers from 49 countries have confirmed attendance, featuring key distributors such as Metropolitan Film Export, Tobis, Eagle Pictures, and A Contracorriente."
Variety noted that this buyer attendance reflects strong global interest, with distributors from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas expected to participate. The combination of major sales companies and a broad international buyer base positions TIFF: The Market as a key new destination for deal-making during the festival.
