The Kygo Haaland song has become part of Norway’s FIFA World Cup 2026 story after Erling Braut Haaland scored twice against Brazil and pushed his country into the quarter-finals. Norwegian DJ and producer Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, better known as Kygo, had promised to release a remix of Haaland’s old viral song if the striker scored against Brazil. Haaland did so twice in Norway’s 2–1 win in the round of 16, turning a social media joke into an official release during one of the biggest moments in Norwegian football history. The track, titled “Kygo Jo (feat. Lyng) [Kygo Remix]”, revives a 2016 song originally recorded by Haaland and his youth-team friends under the name Flow Kingz. What began as a teenage football joke has now become an unofficial soundtrack to Norway’s World Cup run. A Haaland brace turned the remix into a World Cup story Kygo had said he would release the remix if Haaland scored against Brazil. Norway’s round-of-16 match made that condition impossible to ignore. Haaland scored both goals in the 2–1 win, eliminating Brazil and sending Norway into a quarter-final against England in Miami.
