Fans hoping to see Robert Pattinson back in the Batsuit will have to wait nearly six years after the original film. Warner Bros has delayed Matt Reeves' "The Batman Part II" again, moving its release from October 2027 to February 18, 2028, according to Variety. The announcement came alongside the first camera test footage of Pattinson in costume, shared by Reeves on Vimeo.

The Batman Part II Pushed to 2028 as Matt Reeves Unveils First Glimpse of Robert Pattinson's Return

"The Batman Part II has been delayed again, now set for release on February 18, 2028, nearly six years after the original film."

The sequel will feature a roster of new cast members including Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch, Variety reported. Reeves co-wrote the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin, though plot details remain under wraps.

"Warner Bros has announced a series of release date changes for major upcoming films. Matt Reeves' 'The Batman Part II' has been pushed from its October 2027 date to February 18, 2028."

The delay rippled through Warner Bros' schedule. Deadline reported that J.J. Abrams' sci-fi fantasy "The Great Beyond" starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega moved from November 2027 to the now-vacant October 1, 2027 slot, triggering a chain reaction. Additionally, Sam Esmail's "Panic Carefully" and the New Line horror sequel "Revenge of La Llorona" swapped dates.

This marks the fourth delay for the project. Kotaku noted that the film was originally slated for 2025, then moved to 2026, then to 2027, and now to February 2028. The latest postponement came as Warner Bros shuffled its release slate, placing "The Great Beyond" into the October 2027 slot previously held by the Batman sequel.

"After years of delays and shifting release dates, Matt Reeves has confirmed that The Batman: Part II has officially been pushed back once again."

GeekTyrant described the first camera test footage as "only a tease" but a welcome one after such a long wait. The Direct added that the footage offers an official first look at Robert Pattinson's new Batsuit. Meanwhile, The A.V. Club noted that Pattinson has already filmed and released another project, "The Odyssey," since the first "Batman" film.
