The Spanish government has awarded €162 million in funding to 40 clean energy manufacturing projects, including three solar PV projects. Unlike a previous €210 million program that funded solar module manufacturing, none of the current solar PV funding went to module manufacturing. Two of the solar PV awards went to Spanish inverter manufacturer Power Electronics (€7.6 million) and its subsidiary Power Metal Works (€1.4 million), both located in the Valencia region. Power Electronics recently announced it has reached 170GW of installed AC power globally.
