Crisp on the outside, thoughtful on the inside. A keeper.
Summary
Brooklyn architecture studio SO–IL has designed a new flagship store for Japanese fashion brand Issey Miyake inside the neo-gothic New York Life building on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. The store replaces the brand's previous Frank Gehry-designed location in Tribeca, which served for 25 years. SO–IL transformed a cavernous space into what is described as a "clean, precise, audacious" retail environment that reflects the brand's design philosophy.
