Mega Crit has released beta patch v0.109.0 for Slay the Spire 2, introducing two new Neow relics, a major rework to Silent's Well-Laid Plans, and balance adjustments that players are already finding ways to break.
According to xpgained.co.uk, the patch "brings two fresh Neow relics, a significant rework to Silent's Well-Laid Plans, and sweeping balance adjustments across every character." The Well-Laid Plans rework appears to be a centerpiece of the update for the Silent class, altering how players can retain cards from turn to turn.
Kotaku reported that the patch includes damage nerfs to Act 3 bosses like Aeonglass, reworks to several Ancient relics, and what it described as "unusual card buffs that the community is creatively breaking the game with." Players have quickly discovered interactions that turn these buffs into exploits, a pattern familiar to fans of the original game.
The two new Neow relics add further strategic variety at the start of a run, giving players more options during the initial Neow encounter. The sweeping balance changes span all characters, suggesting Mega Crit is still fine-tuning the sequel's difficulty curve.
With the community already pushing the patch notes to their limits, the v0.109.0 update continues Slay the Spire 2's tradition of encouraging player ingenuity even as developers work to tighten the game's balance ahead of a full release.
