Serentica Renewables has signed a Power Purchase Agreement ( PPA ) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 600 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project, advancing one of India's large-scale renewable power procurement initiatives focused on supplying electricity during peak demand hours. The agreement follows Serentica's successful bid in SECI's FDRE VII Assured Peak tender, where the company secured the largest allocation among all participating bidders. Largest Allocation in SECI's FDRE VII Tender According to the company, the PPA covers a 600 MW (2,400 MWh) allocation under SECI's FDRE VII Assured Peak tender. The project forms part of a total tendered capacity of 4,800 MWh, making the procurement one of India's largest and most technically demanding renewable energy auctions. The signing of the agreement marks the transition of the project from the bidding stage to implementation. Unlike conventional renewable energy tenders that primarily focus on daytime power generation, the FDRE VII Assured Peak framework requires developers to supply electricity exclusively during non-solar hours. The project is expected to generate approximately 975 million units of renewable electricity annually and prevent more than 1 million tonnes of carbon emissions each year. Following the award, Serentica Renewables' utility-scale renewable energy portfolio has expanded to more than 8.7 GWp, further strengthening its presence in India's clean energy sector.
