When you think of Seattle's music scene, you may think of Eddie Vedder's distinctive grumble, teen spirit deodorant, or maybe an ultra-famous song about large posteriors. But there’s far more to talk about. There are thousands of songs that have a connection to this place, and quite a few that may surprise you. A new book narrows it down: “The Sound of Seattle: 101 Songs That Shaped a City.” Co-authors Eva Walker and Jacob Uitti are here to chat about Seattle’s musical history, and about some of the lesser-known musical heroes of our town. We want to year from YOU! Fill out Seattle Now’s annual survey to help us make the show better, and weigh in on what we should cover: We can only make Seattle Now because listeners support us. You have the power! Make the show happen by making a gift to KUOW: See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
