Rod Stewart, 81, was given oxygen onstage during a concert in Utah after nearly fainting while performing his hit "Young Turks." The incident took place at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley City, more than halfway through his set, according to Ultimate Classic Rock.
Video footage of the moment shows Stewart leaning on a piano while singing, then steadying himself against the drum screen before aides rushed out with an oxygen canister and the music stopped, Deadline reported.
"Aides rushed to assist him and provided an oxygen tank."
The rock legend's health scare comes amid a string of canceled and postponed shows for the aging performer, Deadline noted. Stewart has continued touring despite his advanced age, but this incident highlights the physical demands of live performance.
After receiving oxygen, Stewart was able to finish the show, though the exact duration of the interruption was not specified by either outlet. The audience at the Utah venue witnessed the moment firsthand as crew members quickly responded to the singer's distress.
