A Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 specs leak published today by Ice Universe claims the watch will carry an 800mAh battery and an AMOLED display rated at 5,000 nits peak brightness upgrades that, if accurate, would address the two most practical limitations of the original model. The timing gives the claims added credibility: model SM-L715, believed to be the cellular Ultra 2, has already cleared FCC certification, and Samsung's Unpacked event in London is expected July 22, less than four weeks away. Ice Universe put the battery at 800mAh, up 35.6% from the original's 590mAh cell, and the display at 5,000 nits, according to Notebookcheck. That brightness figure would surpass the 4,500-nit MicroLED panel on the $1,700 Garmin Fenix 8 Pro, which Notebookcheck notes is likely to make the Ultra 2 the brightest smartwatch display on the market, if the leak holds.
