Summary
Sacha Baron Cohen is reportedly reviving his original breakout character Ali G for a new movie, as confirmed by Variety. The character, which predates Bruno, Borat, and The Dictator, was largely abandoned after Borat took off, partly due to concerns that the character is racially problematic and borders on minstrelsy. There was previous talk of a stand-up tour three years ago, but this new film project marks the first confirmed return of the character.
