Revolution Stage Company is gearing up for its fourth season in Palm Springs, offering audiences a diverse lineup of musicals, comedy, cabaret and original productions while continuing its commitment to showcasing local talent.Co-founder Gary Powers joined NBC Palm Springs to preview the upcoming season, which officially begins in October with performances by acclaimed New York cabaret star Jeff Harnar and Broadway performer Teri RalstonThe company's first mainstage production will be "Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors," followed by the musical "Urinetown," directed by co-founder James Owens, whose production of "Avenue Q" was one of the company's biggest successes. The season also includes "Sweet Charity," directed and choreographed by Nathan Wilson, who previously directed the theater's hit production of "Pippin."A unique addition to the schedule is "Pig Butchered," a new play by San Diego playwright Tim Mulligan. The production explores the world of online scams and identity deception inspired by real-life fraud operations. Powers described it as one of the most compelling scripts he has read.Beyond its mainstage productions, Revolution Stage Company continues to host its annual 10-Minute Play Festival, Comedy Riot stand-up competition and Cabaret Riot, providing opportunities for both established and emerging performers throughout the Coachella Valley.Powers, who spent 25 years working in New York theater before moving to Palm Springs, said his goal is to bring Broadway-level quality to the desert while creating opportunities for local artists.
