Palworld 1.0 launches with massive update; patch notes too big for Steam's character limit

Palworld, the "Pokémon with guns" survival game by Pocketpair, is leaving early access and launching its 1.0 version on Steam. The patch notes were so extensive that they exceeded Steam's character limit, forcing the developer to post them via a Steam News update instead. The 1.0 update introduces a new oil rig endgame area, a new island, new Pals, a hardcore mode, raid bosses, quality-of-life improvements, and various balance changes. The game, which was a massive viral hit in early 2024, has faced controversy over alleged plagiarism of Pokémon designs and a lawsuit from Nintendo.
