Pakistan-Bulgaria political consultations held

ISLAMABAD: The sixth round of Pakistan-Bulgaria Bilateral Political Consultations was held in Islamabad on Tuesday. The Pakistan delegation was led by Ambassador Ayesha Ali, Additional Secretary Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Bulgarian delegation was headed by H.E. Ambassador Petko Doykov, Director General for Bilateral Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. The two sides reviewed the full range of bilateral relations and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including political engagement, trade and economic relations, defence, culture, education and people-to-people exchanges. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments and discussed cooperation at multilateral forums. The consultations were held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued engagement and closer bilateral cooperation. The previous round of consultations was held in Sofia on 11 April 2023. The Head of the Bulgarian delegation, Ambassador Doykov, also called on the Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Amna Baloch. The Foreign Secretary shared Pakistan’s perspective on key regional developments, including Pakistan’s mediation role in the US-Iran conflict. Copyright Business Recorder, 2026
