Overnight monsoon rains battered central South Korea, triggering flooding, road accidents and emergency evacuations. According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, one person was reported missing as of 11 a.m. Thursday in connection with the heavy rain. A total of 423 residents had been evacuated, while more than 200 cases of damage to public and private facilities had been reported. The Korea Meteorological Administration
