OpenAI Expands ChatGPT Go Subscription to U.S. and Tests Advertising to Increase AI Accessibility

OpenAI has globally expanded its lower-cost ChatGPT Go subscription tier, now available in the U.S. and all countries where ChatGPT is offered for $8 per month, The Verge reported. The company is also planning to test advertising in the U.S. for both the free and Go tiers to further expand affordable access to AI, according to Hacker News. The Verge noted that the subscription, previously available in India and 170 other countries, offers more messages, file uploads, and image generation than the free tier.
