The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and five-year comprehensive maintenance of a range of grid-connected and off-grid solar assets at Pahadpur village in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. According to the Request for Proposal, the project is aimed at transforming Pahadpur—the native village of President Droupadi Murmu—into a model “Solar Village” under a national demonstration initiative focused on renewable energy-led tribal development. The village is envisioned as a 100% renewable energy-powered model that can be replicated across rural and tribal regions of India. Rooftop Solar At Key Centers The tender covers installation of 16 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems across three buildings, including a 1 kW system at an Anganwadi Centre, a 5 kW system at the SLS Trust Office and a 10 kW system at the Market Complex. It also includes a 5 kW rooftop solar system with battery backup for a dispensary. In addition, the selected developer will install 216 solar street lighting systems rated at 50 W, four solar high-mast lighting systems, four solar mini-mast lighting systems, and 20 solar streetlights rated at 20 W across public infrastructure such as schools, sports complexes, temples and community areas. The scope also includes comprehensive maintenance of all installed assets for five years. OREDA noted that the overall project scope may increase or decrease by up to 100% depending on site feasibility. Estimated Cost of Project As per the bid data sheet, the estimated cost of the project components includes ₹8.72 lakh for the 16 kW rooftop solar installations, ₹5.25 lakh for the 5 kW rooftop system with battery backup, ₹82.08 lakh for 216 solar streetlights, ₹10.16 lakh for four solar high-mast lighting systems, ₹5.08 lakh for four solar mini-mast lighting systems and ₹4.30 lakh for 20 solar streetlights of 20 W capacity. The tender has been issued under a domestic competitive bidding process through a single-stage, two-envelope e-bidding system. Online bids must be submitted by July 12, 2026, while hard copies of select technical documents are due by July 13. Technical bids are scheduled to be opened on July 14, followed by the opening of financial bids later the same day.
