Saur EnergyNIRL Floats Tender To Lease 3,000 Acres Of Land For Rajasthan Solar Projectssaurenergy.comNLC India Limited (NLCIL), Neyveli, on behalf of its subsidiary NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), has issued a tender seeking bids to arrange 3,000 acres of land on lease. This land would be used for developing solar projects in Rajasthan. The company has invited bids until August 1, 2026. The tender fee is ₹20,000, with a bid security of ₹1,07,60,000. Under the scope of work, the contractor will be required to arrange around 3,000 acres of land on lease for the development of Solar PV projects in Rajasthan. The latest tender supports NLC India's pivot from a lignite-heavy utility into a diversified renewable energy player, with large-scale solar parks, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and pumped storage projects emerging as key pillars of its long-term growth strategy. At its FY26 investor meet , the company outlined a clean energy roadmap to take its renewable energy capacity to more than 10 GW by 2030. The firm currently has 734 MW of operational renewable capacity and another 5.81 GW under implementation and development, of which around 2.5 GW is already under construction. During FY26, NLC India commissioned 303 MW of fresh renewable capacity, including a 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan. Scope of Work Under the scope of work of the tender, the bidder will be required to arrange 3,000 acres of government/private land (5 acres/MW) on a leasehold basis in Rajasthan for developing the solar project. The bidder will also be responsible for conducting the topographical survey and providing site-enabling facilities for the land parcels, as specified in the technical specifications for land under Section G of the tender document. The government/private land will be transferred on a leasehold basis and should be available at a single location in Rajasthan for developing the solar projects. The lease period must be for a minimum of 29 years and 11 months. The land is required to have a clear title and be free from encroachments, litigation, encumbrances, disputes, etc. The Employer reserves the right to obtain legal verification from a third-party agency to confirm the clear title of the proposed land, if required. Multiple land parcels would be accepted, considering that each individual land parcel has a minimum area of 500 acres (5 acres/MW) for developing the solar power project. Additionally, all the land parcels are required to have an identified motorable approach without any obstacle or ownership claim by any individual or agency. In case the bidder executed the solar/ wind projects on a lump-sum turnkey basis, including arrangement of land. Such a land quantity for the projects would be considered at 3.75 acres per MW for solar projects and 1.5 acres per MW for wind projects for Qualifying Requirements (QR).
