Stereogum described Hakim's music as "woozy, delicate psychedelic soul" and compared his vocal style to "Marvin Gaye sleepily murmuring." The production on "Endlessly Waiting" is built around a J Dilla-like beat, letting Hakim's silky whisper take center stage.

The track leans into a hushed intimacy, while "The Reason" similarly stays within a subdued, introspective register. Stereogum noted that the new material pushes Hakim's sound "further inward," suggesting a deliberate narrowing of focus for the upcoming album.

Hakim has not announced a release date for "I Can See," but the steady rollout of songs indicates a project nearing completion. Fans of his previous work will find the same vulnerable, textured approach, now refined into even more delicate forms.
