Upstate New York duo Babehoven have announced their forthcoming album I See Them, I See Me, set for release in September via Double Double Whammy. The announcement arrives with the single "Lasagna" and a music video directed by Ash Kron, marking the band's first new music since their 2024 album Water's Here in You.
Stereogum described the new track as "a contemporary soft rock gem featuring pedal steel, acoustic strums, and Bon's soft vocals." The video takes a nostalgic turn, with Austintownhall noting it is "a hilarious video about the days of those shady Peel Prizes," referencing the Monopoly-inspired in-joke.
The band, consisting of Maya Bon and Ryan Albert, continues to deliver the sound that earned them a devoted following. Austintownhall praised the song as bringing "the band's own unique brand of delicate and airy folk pop."
"The video is incredibly charming and the song of course brings the band's own unique brand of delicate and airy folk pop."
With I See Them, I See Me arriving later this year, the duo are building on the momentum of their 2024 LP, which was also released through Double Double Whammy, according to both outlets.
