The devastation caused by four major wildfires and several smaller blazes still burning across western and central Nebraska has left ranchers struggling to find the words to describe the impact.

Among the tragedies, Rose Mary White, 86, of Arthur, died March 12 as the fires swept rapidly across the grasslands.
