Paramount+ has set a September 18 global premiere date for "MobLand" Season 2, releasing a teaser trailer that sees Tom Hardy's fixer character back in the thick of criminal chaos. The announcement comes after reports that Hardy briefly exited the series following a fallout with producers, a situation resolved during a recent meeting in London, according to Variety.
The crime drama stars Hardy as Harry De Souza, a mob fixer, alongside Pierce Brosnan as Irish gang leader Conrad Harrigan and Helen Mirren as his wife Maeve, Deadline reported. The new teaser shows the Harrigan family escalating their street war, with Conrad and Maeve brazenly confronting rivals.
TVLine noted that the first trailer for Season 2 depicts Hardy's character getting back to rough business after the events of the first season. The upcoming season will consist of 10 episodes, Variety reported.
The question of whether the British star would return had lingered after his reported exit, but a breakthrough with show executives secured his involvement not only for Season 2 but also for a potential third season, according to Variety. Whatfinger also highlighted the uncertainty around Hardy's continued participation in the series.
