Meta's Muse Image AI tool opts in public Instagram photos by default, sparking backlash from Hollywood and talent groups

Meta has launched Muse Image, an AI tool that allows users to remix publicly posted Instagram photos into new AI-generated images. The tool opted many accounts in by default, sparking alarm across the entertainment industry. Talent managers, CAA, and SAG-AFTRA have raised concerns about creators losing control over their image and likeness, arguing that the opt-out system puts influencers and artists at risk of having their work and identity used without meaningful consent.
