Mastodon have officially announced their ninth studio album, 'Marrow Deep', and shared the blistering new single 'Snakes For Dinner' featuring Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. "Mastodon begin a powerful new chapter with Marrow Deep and Josh Homme collaboration."

The collaboration with Homme adds a notable guest presence to the record. Theprp.com noted that the band debuted a video for the track alongside the announcement, giving fans a first listen to the new material.

"A bold new chapter."

'Snakes For Dinner' arrives as the first taste of what Mastodon have crafted in the wake of Hinds' passing, a period that has seen the progressive metal group reconfigure their lineup and creative process. Metal Addicts reported that the album was officially announced as the long-awaited follow-up to their 2021 work, while Metal Planet Music confirmed the August 28 date.

Pre-orders and pre-saves for 'Marrow Deep' are now live, according to Maximum Volume Music, as Mastodon usher in this new phase with a collaborator from the upper echelons of rock. The single and its accompanying video are available now across streaming platforms.
