Man fatally shot on Near North Side

A man was fatally shot early Tuesday on the Near North Side.
The man, 40, was outside in the 400 block of West Evergreen Avenue around 2:10 a.m. when he was shot multiple times in the body, Chicago police said.
The unidentified man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Area detectives were investigating.
