New Spanish thriller 'Secuestro virtual' completes filming, adapting hit Audible audio drama

Irene Arzuaga has wrapped principal photography on her directorial debut, "Secuestro virtual," a thriller adapted from Joaquín Górriz's popular Audible audio fiction.

The project, which shot across Madrid and the Canary Islands, brings Górriz's original audio drama to the big screen. Górriz, who created the audio fiction for Audible, also wrote the screenplay for the film, according to elblogdecineespanol.com.
"Secuestro virtual" is a Spanish-Portuguese co-production involving Cine365 Films, La Canica Films, DZ Largometrajes, Audiovisuales AIE, and Bando À Parte. Distribution will be handled by Filmax, audiovisual451.com reported.
The film received significant public support, securing a grant of one million euros from Spain's ICAA film institute in 2025.
