Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily broke nearly two years of public silence Wednesday, posting an emotional Instagram video addressing the legal battle with Blake Lively over the production of the 2024 film 'It Ends with Us.' The video comes just weeks after the two sides settled their lawsuit on May 4, according to Whatfinger and Page Six, a settlement reached only two weeks before the case was set to go to trial.

In the video, Baldoni described the ordeal in stark terms. TMZ reported that the filmmaker summed up his feelings with one word: 'Injustice.' Echoing that sentiment, Fox News noted that Baldoni and his wife filmed the video to address the 'injustice' they felt throughout the two-year legal saga.

"Injustice."

But the Baldonis also struck a note of gratitude. NBC News reported that in the same video, Justin and Emily said 'gratitude' is what kept them going. Variety confirmed that the couple had refrained from speaking publicly despite having 'much to say,' feeling that the timing was never right until now.

"Gratitude."

The legal dispute had swirled around the production of 'It Ends with Us,' with Lively and Baldoni trading allegations. Now that a settlement has been reached, Baldoni's public remarks offer the first glimpse into his perspective since the case was resolved. Fox News described the video as 'emotional,' while Variety noted it marked a nearly two-year public silence being broken.

With the trial averted and a settlement in place, Baldoni's video appears to be an attempt to close the chapter on a feud that captivated Hollywood. As the actor and director steps back into the public eye, the words 'injustice' and 'gratitude' frame his account of a battle that nearly went to court.
