Apple TV has greenlit the thriller series 'Guilty Creatures,' based on Mikita Brottman’s true-crime book about a murder case in Tallahassee, Florida. Deadline reported that the series is produced by Tomorrow Studios. The Hollywood Reporter added that Zicherman, who created the series, will also serve as showrunner. 9to5Toys confirmed the announcement, noting that Garner’s involvement marks her return to a leading role after 'Ozark.'

The project adds to a growing slate of true-crime dramas for Apple TV+, which has previously explored similar territory with series like 'The Shrink Next Door.' Garner, who won three Emmys for her role as Ruth Langmore on 'Ozark,' will now step into the world of a real-life Tallahassee murder case that Brottman chronicled in her 2021 book of the same name.

TVLine included the news in a casting roundup, further signaling the high-profile nature of the series. Gillespie, known for directing 'I, Tonya' and 'Cruella,' brings a strong track record of character-driven storytelling to the adaptation. The combination of a proven true-crime source, a celebrated actress, and an acclaimed director gives 'Guilty Creatures' a promising foundation as it moves into production.
