French cybersecurity agency Viginum has identified an Israeli tech firm, BlackCore, allegedly involved in digital interference operations targeting Scottish First Minister John Swinney. The firm is also linked to interference in Angola, Togo, and the 2025 New York mayoral election won by pro-Palestine candidate Zohran Mamdani. Viginum chief Marc-Antoine Brillant stated it remains unclear who commissioned BlackCore's activities. The French government has requested an explanation from Israel regarding BlackCore's actions.
