Interpol has released their latest single, “Iron City,” the third preview of their upcoming album This Mirror Weighs A Ton, which is set to arrive on August 28th via Partisan Records. The track emerges as a slow-burn piece marked by murky pianos and music-box chimes, according to Stereogum, who also noted that the song continues the band’s tradition of writing lyrics that ambiguously reference New York City.

"The track features murky pianos and music-box chimes, continuing the band's tradition of songs ambiguously referencing New York City."

The song follows two previously released singles, “This Mirror Weighs A Ton” and “See Out Loud,” as reported by Stereogum. The album itself was produced by Andrew Wyatt and mixed by Dave Fridmann.

Alongside the new music, Interpol has announced a major 2026 UK and EU arena tour, Maximum Volume Music reported. The tour will include two dates at London’s Olympia on December 4th and 5th, giving fans in the capital a chance to see the band in a sizable venue.

The band’s first new album in several years, This Mirror Weighs A Ton marks a continued evolution of their post-punk sound. With “Iron City,” the group leans into a more atmospheric, piano-driven texture that suggests a darker, more introspective direction for the record.
