Instagram's Edits gets new creator tools, from bilingual captions to reusable templates

New Delhi: Instagram has introduced a fresh set of updates to Edits, its standalone video creation and editing app, adding new caption, template and audio features for creators. The latest update introduces bilingual captions, enabling creators to automatically translate captions into a secondary language within their videos. The feature is currently available in English, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese, Gujarati, Spanish, Hindi, Korean, Bengali, German, Italian, Thai, French, Japanese and Kannada. Instagram has also expanded the app's template capabilities. Creators can now build templates with overlay support, allowing additional visual elements to be layered into projects. Another addition lets users lock specific clips while editing, ensuring selected footage remains fixed when making changes or when templates are reused. The update also includes a collection of seasonal sound effects, offering creators additional audio options for summer-themed content. The new features were announced through the official Creators account on Instagram, which highlighted the expanded caption support, enhanced template controls and the addition of seasonal audio effects as part of the latest Edits release.
