India added approximately 26GW of solar capacity and 3GW of wind capacity in the first half of 2026, according to JMK Research. As of June 2026, India's cumulative renewable energy capacity reached ~288GW, with solar dominating at 56% of installed capacity. Utility-scale solar installations hit ~19GW (up 32% YoY), while rooftop solar added ~6.4GW during the period.
