This workshop focuses on the practical aspects of creating self-tape auditions, which are essential for actors in today's industry. Participants learn how to improve their audition performances, achieve high-quality lighting and audio, and handle the technical aspects of compressing and delivering their audition tapes efficiently and effectively, all on a fast turnaround within the constraints of a limited budget. The objective is to instill self-reliance and equip professional actors with the skills to submit self-tape auditions meeting industry standards. Tim Powell has extensive experience in the entertainment industry, with a career that encompasses both acting and production roles over forty years. He specializes in producing self-tapes, a skill he has honed for over twenty years. As an instructor, Tim designed and taught his Technology and Minimalism classes at The SAG-AFTRA Conservatory hosted by the American Film Institute in Hollywood for three years. He has also led Self-Taping Solutions Workshops for a wide range of organizations, including SAG-AFTRA and its Conservatory in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, The Television Academy, The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, UCLA, USC, A-List International, CBS, Netflix, and various regional performer’s groups.
