Illinois passed SB 315 — the Artificial Intelligence Safety Measures Act — 110-0 in the House and 52-5 in the Senate. Governor Pritzker has committed to signing it. When he does, it will be the first US law to mandate annual independent third-party audits of frontier AI developer safety practices. OpenAI and Anthropic both support it. NetChoice wants a veto.
