I currently use a Macbook Air M1 with Sonoma which works great and is compatible with the audio interface I use which Tahoe is not. I have the version of Sonoma installer downloaded into my Apps folder from which I can make USB bootable copies. However, I am concerned that if I upgrade to a second hand M1 Macbook Pro with Tahoe installed, it's firmware version will not allow me to reinstall a clean version of Sonoma on it.
