Modern learners have access to digital dictionaries, podcasts, videos, subtitles and apps, not to mention convenient online access to native speakers and teachers.

Compared with someone who started learning Chinese before smartphones, learners today have enormous advantages.

Technology can make learning Chinese easier, but only if it helps you engage more with the language.

Used poorly, the same tools can get in the way of learning instead of supporting it.
