The 2026 T-Mobile Home Run Derby will stream live on Netflix for the first time, departing from its long-running ESPN home as the event shifts to a swing-based format. The contest takes place Monday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, according to Yahoo News New Zealand.
DraftKings reported that the new format eliminates timed rounds: players will receive a set number of swings instead. Decider provided specifics, noting participants get 20 swings in Round 1 and 15 swings in subsequent rounds.
"the event is also reverting from a timer-based format to a swing-based format, with participants getting 20 swings in Round 1 and 15 swings in subsequent rounds."
This marks a significant change from recent Derbies that used a clock, returning to a structure that fans of earlier eras may recall.
The field of eight sluggers includes hometown stars Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Streamable highlighted the local angle, reporting that the duo will "tee off in front of the home crowd." Also in the lineup are Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Yankees catcher Ben Rice, among others.
"Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper will tee off in front of the home crowd, while big names like Junior Caminero and Ben Rice will look to spoil the fun and take this year's trophy."
International Business Times Australia called it a "hometown showdown" between the two Phillies stars, adding to the anticipation for the Philadelphia crowd. With a new broadcast home and a tweaked format, the 2026 Derby offers baseball fans multiple reasons to tune in.
