Milestone has pushed the release date for Hot Wheels Infinite Rush forward by two weeks, with the arcade racer now launching on September 10, 2026, according to Nintendo Everything and Push Square. The change moves the game away from its original September 24 slot, which was shared with titles like Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall, Push Square reported. A new trailer titled 'The Island: Episode 1' showcases the open world setting ahead of the earlier launch.
'Hot Wheels Infinite Rush immerses players in a die-cast-scale world spread across four dynamic, freely explorable islands,' VGChartz reported. The islands, named Wheelswood Island, Tentacle Bay Island, Gearville Island, and Drifty Temples Island, each have a distinctive visual identity, IGN detailed. GameGrin added that each island is freely explorable with its own look and feel.
'Jump into a Hot Wheels-sized world with four islands packed with events, challenges and full-throttle mayhem,' IGN reported. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Advanced access begins on September 7, VGChartz noted.
Push Square, writing under the subheader 'Dodging the traffic,' observed that the open world design draws comparisons to blockbuster racing series. Thesixthaxis.com specifically noted that the setting invites comparisons to Forza Horizon and Burnout Paradise, framing the game as a family-friendly alternative in the open world racing space. With its bright environments and collectible vehicle focus, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush aims to capture the spirit of the iconic toy line while delivering high-speed thrills across its four distinct islands.
