After several sessions of gains, Indian equity markets witnessed profit booking on Tuesday, dragging renewable energy stocks lower in line with the broader market. Benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50, ended in the red as investors turned cautious amid mixed global cues, with the weakness reflecting across most listed renewable energy and clean energy companies. Among the major renewable energy players, Emmvee Photovoltaic Power emerged as the biggest loser, declining 6.54%, followed by ACME Solar Holdings, which fell 4.31%. Borosil Renewables dropped 2.58%, while NTPC Green Energy, Solex Energy, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy, Suzlon Energy and Adani Green Energy also ended the session with losses ranging between 1.9% and 2.6%. Waaree Energies declined 1.22%, Vikram Solar slipped 1.32%, and Alpex Solar lost 1.64%, indicating broad-based weakness across the sector. Only a handful of renewable energy stocks managed to buck the trend. Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions gained 0.93%, Waaree Renewable Technologies rose 0.71%, while Premier Energies edged up 0.16%, making them the notable outperformers in an otherwise weak trading session. Meanwhile, Tata Power ended nearly flat with a marginal decline of 0.09%, reflecting resilience compared to several sector peers. Despite Tuesday's correction, the longer-term performance of several renewable energy stocks remains robust. Emmvee Photovoltaic Power has surged 85.77% year-to-date, ACME Solar is up 61.43%, Adani Green Energy has gained 51.01%, while Premier Energies has advanced 20.64% and Borosil Renewables has risen 16.36% so far this year. Market participants said the day's decline largely mirrored the broader market sentiment following the recent rally, with investors booking profits rather than reacting to any sector-specific negative trigger.
