Maine Democratic Senate Candidate Graham Platner Drops Out After Sexual Assault Allegations
Graham Platner, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Maine, has suspended his campaign following allegations of sexual assault from 2021. In an 11-minute video posted to social media, Platner denied the accusations while announcing he was stepping aside for the good of the movement. The Maine Democratic Party must now select a replacement candidate to challenge incumbent Republican Senator Susan Collins in the November election.
