Columbia College MFA Student Becomes First Composer Selected for Disability Belongs' Entertainment Lab

Columbia College Chicago MFA student Matthew Hua, who has moderate-to-severe hearing loss in his left ear, has been selected as the first composer for Disability Belongs' 2026 Entertainment Lab — a pipeline program supporting film and television creatives with disabilities. Hua is pursuing a Music Composition for Screen degree and brings a unique perspective to the lab, which aims to increase disability representation in entertainment.
