【ニューヨーク=桑村大】米グーグルが繁殖不能にした蚊を大量に野外に放出する計画を立てている。米南部フロリダ州と米西部カリフォルニア州で2年間にわたり最大6400万匹を放つ実験の許可を米環境保護局（EPA）に申請した。感染症を媒介する蚊の個体数を減らし、感染リスクを抑える狙いがある。蚊はデング熱やマラリアといった感染症の病原体を媒介し、間接的に人を最も多く殺している生き物とされる。米国では近年、
