A Google engineer has been charged with fraud for allegedly using confidential internal data to make $1.2 million in bets on the prediction market Polymarket. Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York unsealed a complaint on Wednesday charging Michele Spagnuolo with money laundering, commodities fraud, and wire fraud, Rolling Stone reported. The charges stem from bets that correctly predicted singer d4vd would be Google's most searched person in 2025, according to coverage on Bluesky.
