Family of 2 siblings killed in Lake Geneva boat accident raise money to support charity in their memory

The children, identified by family as 6-year-old Caleb Oswald and 7-year-old Abigail Oswald were two of three children killed when the boat capsized Friday afternoon as a severe storm system swept across Walworth County with peak winds between 90 and 100 mph. The third child, who was 10 years old, hasn’t yet been identified.

As of Wednesday morning, over $15,000 had been raised, according to GoFundMe. The funds will be given to a children's charity in Caleb and Abigail's memory.

"While our hearts are broken beyond words, we want their legacy to be one of hope, compassion, and helping others," the family said in a post attached to the fundraiser.

Caleb and Abigail's family described the siblings as "best friends" who were "deeply loved by their family, friends, teachers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing them."

"They filled our home with laughter, music, hugs, and endless love," the children's parents wrote.

Caleb was passionate about trucks, music and Chick-fil-A — he often spoke of how he'd work at the food chain when he was older.

He'd ask Alexa to play his favorite songs and "dance and sing with pure happiness" whenever the music started, according to the fundraiser post.

"Caleb found happiness in the simple things, and his laughter and excitement were contagious," his parents wrote.

Abigail loved swimming and dancing and "had the quickest wit of anyone her family knew."

"She always had a funny comment or joke ready and could make everyone around her laugh," her family said in the fundraiser. "She had a huge heart for others and dreamed of becoming a teacher one day because she wanted to help children learn and grow. She was kind, loving, and wise beyond her years."
