Singapore-based Encore Films has acquired worldwide distribution rights (outside mainland China) to 'Kung Fu Soccer', Stephen Chow's long-awaited spinoff of his 2001 hit 'Shaolin Soccer'. The film marks Chow's first directorial effort in seven years (since 2019's 'The New King of Comedy') and stars Zhang Xiaofei, Dilraba Dilmurat, and Lay Zhang. Maoyan Entertainment will handle the mainland China release. Release dates have not yet been announced.
