Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three, offering a grim look at the aftermath of Paul Atreides' ascension. According to IGN, the film is set nearly two decades after Paul seized control of the Imperium, and he now rules as a ruthless Emperor. Polygon reported that the trailer hints at a major time jump and shows Paul having conquered the galaxy, destroying thousands of worlds.

"way beyond redemption"

Deadline noted that Jason Momoa's Duncan Idaho delivers that line about Paul, suggesting the character may be beyond saving. The trailer also teases that Florence Pugh's Princess Irulan and Robert Pattinson's Scytale are conspiring for a regime change against Paul, with Polygon adding that Zendaya's Chani may play a key role in that plot.

Polygon observed that Villeneuve's third film may be the biggest departure from the source material yet, as the director takes more liberties with Frank Herbert's novel. The trailer shows Paul facing consequences of his reign, with old allies returning and new threats emerging, per IGN.

The cast includes returning stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem, as well as newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke, IGN reported. Deadline noted that the film is expected to arrive in theaters on March 17, 2026.
