Driver killed in I-88 crash in DuPage County

A driver was killed in a crash late Saturday in the westbound lanes of I-88, Illinois State Police said.
The driver was slowing down to avoid a crash when a car rear-ended them just before 11 p.m. near Winfield Road in DuPage County. The driver slowing down was pronounced dead at the scene. State police did not report any additional injuries.
The roadway was shut down until 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
