DreamWorks' 'Forgotten Island' celebrates Filipino culture with Lea Salonga as villain
DreamWorks' upcoming animated film 'Forgotten Island' is a love letter to Filipino culture, set in the Philippines during the 1990s. Directors Joel Crawford (whose wife is Filipina) and Filipino-American Januel Mercado re-team after working on 'Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.' The film features Filipina superstar Lea Salonga as the main villain. The project was presented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
